The Pirate King himself, Gol D. Roger, is the holder of the largest known bounty throughout the series. He was the sole male to make it to the last island, Laugh Tale, and uncover the proper history of the world. Roger did not govern through sheer strength of arms—his charm and the capacity to bring people together saw him do what no pirate had ever done before. Roger’s bounty not only reflects his personal strength but the extreme danger that he posed for the World Government with his discoveries in the mysteries of the Void Century. His reputation continues even years after he passed away and even inspires dreams for new generations of pirates, most notably Monkey D. Luffy.
2. Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) – 5,046,000,000 Berries
Whitebeard, also Edward Newgate, was considered the “Strongest Man in the World” and the one man who could match Gol D. Roger. Being the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, he commanded territories throughout the seas and kept the Yonko in balance. Whitebeard’s bounty is a reflection of his brute strength and authority. Even in his advanced age, during the Marineford War, he shook the world—literally—with his powers of the Quake-Quake Fruit. Kaido of the Beasts gained his intimidating reputation by being seemingly invincible. 4. Charlotte Linlin (Big Mom) – 4,388,000,000 Berries
Big Mom, or Charlotte Linlin, is one of the only characters to have been a major threat from the early days of the Yonko mentions. As captain of the Big Mom Pirates, she governed Totto Land, a country of different races all bound together under her vision of “equality”—albeit through force. Big Mom’s power is rooted in her Devil Fruit, which allows her to manipulate souls, but her political connections and huge family provided her with an empire of influence. 5. Shanks – 4,048,900,000 Berries
Red-Haired Shanks continues to be among the most elusive characters in One Piece. Despite being a Yonko for so long, his actions are stealthy, measured, and effective. He is the lone Yonko who doesn’t use territory or intimidation but sheer presence and respect from friend and foe. His bounty is not the highest, but given that he became a Yonko without the typical methods of domination or destruction, it says a lot. 6. Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard) – 3,996,000,000 Berries
Blackbeard, or Marshall D. Teach, has arguably experienced the quickest ascension to power in pirate history. Originally a member of Whitebeard’s crew, he turned against his fellow crew members, murdered Ace, and stole Whitebeard’s Devil Fruit power following the Marineford War. Overnight, with both the Dark-Dark Fruit and the Quake-Quake Fruit powers, he became an overnight threat. His ruthlessness and cunning differentiated him. Other Yonko who constructed empires over years, Teach stole his place through strategy and brutality. His present bounty makes him one of the most dangerous living men.
7. Dracule Mihawk – 3,590,000,000 Berries
Dracule “Hawk Eyes” Mihawk is the World’s Strongest Swordsman, and even without a crew or a Yonko rank, he’s one of the most powerful beings in the seas. Following the abolition of the Warlord system, Mihawk’s bounty went through the roof—indicating just how much the World Government fears him without their leash. Now a member of the Cross Guild, Mihawk allies himself with Crocodile and Buggy. His bounty is a reflection of his lone-wolf level of danger and the fact that even Yonko-level pirates don’t mess with him.
8. Buggy the Clown – 3,189,000,000 Berries
Buggy—the clown who used to flee from fights and staggered through fortune—now has a bounty of almost 3.2 billion. Due to a series of coincidences, misunderstandings, and his association with giants such as Crocodile and Mihawk, Buggy was declared a Yonko and the leader of Cross Guild. The World Government believes that Buggy is in control of two of the strongest previous Warlords and, by association, he’s an enormous threat on paper—and not because he really does have any reason for credit. It’s a beautiful coincidence of good old One Piece lore.
9. Monkey D. Luffy – 3,000,000,000 Berries
Monkey D. Luffy—captain of the Straw Hat Pirates—has become a legend. Having defeated Kaido and freed Wano, he was given the title of one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. Yet his reward was remarkably on par with Law and Kid, even though he arguably did more. What the World Government dreads the most isn’t Luffy’s strength—it’s the activation of his Devil Fruit, which was found to be the Mythical Zoan Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, that is connected with ancient prophecies and happiness itself. The real danger of Luffy is only just beginning.
10. Trafalgar D. Water Law – 3,000,000,000 Berries
Trafalgar Law, who is the captain of the Heart Pirates, gained his gigantic bounty following the Wano Arc when he allied himself with Eustass Kid to topple Big Mom. His Ope Ope no Mi renders him an asset—or danger—depending on one’s point of view. Law is also one of the smarter and strategic pirates, quite frequently employing strategy rather than force. 11. Eustass Kid – 3,000,000,000 Berries
He is famous for being reckless and possessing raw strength. Eustass Kid created waves early in the series as one of the most violent members of the Worst Generation.
