Shanks and Luffy have a greater bond which is almost the reason behind the entire story of One Piece. Through events in One Piece Shanks first encountered Luffy in the East Blue’s Foosha Village. The Red-Haired Pirates led by Shanks anchored at Foosha Village while spending some amount of time there. At that moment Luffy was still young but already followed Shanks as his role model by wanting to become a future pirate. During his time with the crew Luffy engaged regularly with them and found endless fascination in their daring way of life. Luffy accidentally eats the Gomu Gomu fruit which makes his body rubber and made him unable to swim.
How did Shanks stealed the Gomu Gomu fruit?
During the Wano arc of One Piece it became clear that Shanks stole the Gomu Gomu no Mi by raiding a World Government ship. Agents from CP9 provided intense security to the ship demonstrating the profound value of this associated object. However, at the time, it was not known to be the Hito Hito no Mi Model. Straw Hat Luffy received the Nika Mythical Zoan fruit which confers all the powers of Sun God Nika upon its user.
Is Shamrocks Figarland helping Shanks ?
It was said by the Five elders that the fruit was not eaten by anyone in the past 800 years and kept hidden from everyone, most of that no one knew that this type of fruit existed. However, Shanks knew the existence of the fruit and chased it to the greater extent to get his hands on it. Shanks treasured the Gomu Gomu fruit in his ship but left infront of Luffy just like that was something that hinders major theories. Was Shanks purposely kept the fruit infront of Luffy so that he could eat it? The most important fact is that how did even Shanks know about the fruit.
The Gorosei and Imu considers the Nika fruit as the most important thing to hide the secrets of the Void Century and Joyboy. So one fact that makes sense is that the fruit must have been preserved in Mary Joise which is the place that no one can approach by their will. This is where a major theory rises up, if this was the fact then how did Shanks knew about the fruit?

Shamrocks being a celestial dragon and living in the Mary Joise should have known the presence of such a fruit maybe Shamrocks maybe the character behind Shanks getting his hands on the fruit by getting the whereabouts of fruit getting transmitted by the world government.
Who met the Five Elders on Mary Joise ? Shanks or Shamrocks
It is not possible that the twin brothers didn’t aware of the existence of both as they both are identically same and Shanks was so popular as a Yonko and even before a Yonko he was the member of the Pirate King’s crew. In the Reverie Arc, a hooded Shanks covering his one side of the eyes was shown to be meeting the Gorosei with the wanted poster of Luffy and talks about him. Everyone thought it was Shanks, but it turned out to be Shamrocks now. It may be possible that Shanks entered Mary Joise with the disguise of being Shamrocks Figarland.
