Tokyo Revengers released the third season – Tenjiku Arc at the end of 2023, which had a combined result in terms of success. After the Tenjiku Arc, it has been a year and there were no announcements and updates regarding the next arc.
Tokyo Revengers - Bonten Arc
In “Bonten Arc” of the manga Tokyo Revengers, the main protagonist Takemichi Hanagaki travels back to the present and he discovers now that the Tokyo Manji Gang is no longer functioning and Hinata Tachibana is alive. But he learns about Manjiro “Mikey” Sano when the man has turned into the head of Bonten, Japan’s most notorious crime organization. The beginning of this arc is as usual and it introduces a new side of Mikey’s personality, ‘dark impulsivity’ which stems from his brother Shinichiro’s past actions. Instead of simply killing someone, as Shinichiro had done to obtain his powers, he wanted to turn back the clock to spare Mikey’s life and keep him out of a vegetative state. Therefore, throughout the process, Mikey developed the “dark impulse” in particular.
In this arc, Mikey has a corresponding task of battling and bringing back the ‘‘good’ condition of Takemichi. Part of this involves dealing with people and trying to solve a mystery regarding the formation of Bonten, the narrative preemptively tries to change the opinions of people to favor the main character’s friend and their desires for the future.
Is the Bonten Arc cancelled ?
As the arrival of the next arc keeps on delayed for more than a year, viewers expect that the next arc may not adapted into anime. Jump Festa 2025 also didn’t provide any update about Tokyo Revengers. It was also reported that the production was not happy with the performance of the Tenjiku Arc and many were not even aware of the season’s arrival. However, all these rumors and claims aside, Tokyo Revengers is one of the highly loved anime and will surely come back with its next season as soon as possible. The Season 3 Tenjiku Arc of Tokyo Revengers ended with a cliffhanger which is very proof that the next season is coming up.
Why is the Bonten Arc getting delayed?
Tokyo Revengers is a short manga anime which have around three arcs in balance after Season 3. Liden Films, the production house of Tokyo Revengers Anime is very soon expected to give an official announcement soon and may release the next season by the end of 2025.
