How did Sukuna and Uraume met?
In the new epilogue of Jujutsu Kaisen it is revealed that before becoming one of his subordinates, Sukuna met Uraume during the Heian era much differently and a bit tragically. Uraume was a child at that time and was called the “Frozen Star” and had a condition that made it so cold near them due to their enormous ice-elemental energy.
Of all the things that they could not control over their abilities, the cold emanating from Uraume’s body eventually killed their parents. Perhaps that is why, interestingly enough, Sukuna tasked Uraume with training them. To this end, he asked Uraume to keep his meat for him and asked her all about the capability of the freezing power of humans to butcher some of the meat eaters on board as a confirmation of his known cannibalism.

Bond of Sukuna and Uraume
Sukuna maintained the powers of Uraume so much that Uraume was very much devoted to him. The common tropes of the master-servant pairing were left aside in favor of a healthy friendship presided over by the common purpose of serving the estate. Uraume was given certain tasks by Sukuna as his servant, turning his flesh into ice, which helps in his hard deeds which are some of which are cannibalism. These interactions naturally embedded Uraume within Sukuna’s narrative and their proper dynamic as characters.
The Past Timeline of the Heian Era
The epilogue brings the study back to Heaven in a final scene of the afterlife, a final scene that carries a gravitas of its own. This scene indicates that there was a real special relationship between them and in fact, they were conveyors of each other even in death.
This addition adds to the background of Jujutsu Kaisen, explaining the mystery behind the character Sukuna and the loyalty of Uraume. : That brings a focus on the early case that defines their relationship and gives more elaborate insight for the fans.
This background helps to explain why Uraume remains faithful to Sukuna and although the plot of the story can best be described by the longstanding relation between master and servant, there is more to it. Beginning from this rather important meeting in the Heian era, their relationship is underlined when Sukuna consoles a weeping Uraume in the afterlife.
