Jujutsu Kaisen is a fantastic anime and manga series by the great mind of Gege Akutami, filled with epic battles, fiendish spirits, and chivalrous Jujutsu sorcerers. As the story keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats, it does not shy away from the brutal reality of being a sorcerer. Many characters meet tragic ends and each death contributes to the plot. Let us take a deeper look at the dead Jujutsu sorcerers and how they die.
Kento Nanami
One of the best characters, a Grade 1 Jujutsu Sorcerer, and also a mentor for Yuji Itadori is Kento Nanami. During the Shibuya Incident, he faced overwhelming odds against cursed spirits and transfigured humans. Nanami’s final battle was against Mahito, a dangerous and sadistic cursed spirit. Despite his great talent and composed self, Nanami was caught off guard by Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration technique, which killed him instantly. His death was heart-wrenching for fans and the characters alike.

Masamichi Yaga
Masamichi Yaga, the principal of Tokyo Jujutsu High, was a good man and wise. His ability could create such corpses as Panda. Yaga’s death resulted from the betrayal of the upper strata of the Jujutsu world. The higher-ups decided that he posed a threat due to his techniques, and hence, he was executed by another principal named Yoshinobu Gakuganji. Though his death was quick, it portrayed corruption in the Jujutsu society.

Suguru Geto
Suguru Geto is a former sorcerer of the Jujutsu world who was a dear friend of Satoru Gojo when the two were kids. However, Geto soon turned against that world and sought after a society for sorcerers. His insurrection was closed off when Geto was approached by Gojo. In one final, emotive, heartbreaking clash, Suguru Geto was killed swiftly and decisively by Gojo. Though his physical body was killed, his legacy continued haunting the Jujutsu world since his body was taken over by Kenjaku, a clever sorcerer.

Haibara Yu
Haibara Yu was a promising sorcerer and friend of Nanami during their student days. Though cheerful, Haibara met a tragic end during a mission. He was killed by a potent cursed spirit, an incident that had a deep impact on Nanami and placed on his serious and stoic nature. Haibara’s death reminded him of the dangers before the Jujutsu sorcerers daily.

Mai Zenin
Mai Zenin is one of Maki Zenin‘s twin sisters and is a member of the Zenin clan. She had a very complicated relationship with her family and sister. Maki attempted to kill the corrupted leaders when that was happening to the Zenin clan. This act led Mai to try empowering Maki which was achieved by transferring all her cursed energy, which eventually led to her death. It also symbolized love and belief from Mai in the strength of Maki to make a change within their clan.

Riko Amanai
Riko Amanai was the Star Plasma Vessel, which was to join Master Tengen. She was destined to maintain the society of Jujutsu. Without her life, the society of Jujutsu would not be there. She died much sooner than anyone could have ever thought. She was murdered by Toji Fushiguro, a rogue sorcerer killer, in front of Gojo and Geto. Riko’s death became an impetus for both of the sorcerers and kept changing their future course and their attitude toward their role in life.

Yuki Tsukumo
Yuki Tsukumo was a Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer known for doing her own thing in an unorthodox way. She had unmatched strength, but she was to confront Kenjaku, and that was going to be it for her. She fought strong and had great techniques up to her fight with Kenjaku, which left her badly maimed to death. Yuki’s death was a major blow to the Jujutsu sorcerers, highlighting the immense threat posed by Kenjaku and his schemes.

The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is ruthless, and every death of these sorcerers reminds us of the risks they face day by day. Each death in itself progresses the plot and has an impact that remains emotional with the other characters and the fans as well. The more the story unfolds, the more sacrifices and heart-wrenching moments one can expect; however, these are the very struggles that make Jujutsu Kaisen a really interesting tale of courage and loss.
