Following 19 years of voicing the unique shipwright of the Straw Hat Pirates, Kazuki Yao has replaced by Subaru Kimura. Speaking of this during Jump Festa 2025, this meant the character has also bid adieu and chose to retire because of his old age and health issues.
Of the myriad of how long, Kazuki Yao’s distinctive deep tones and campy portrayl of the Franky character will always be unforgettable. His portrayal has made Franky one of the most charismatic characters of the series and really made this character pop.
