Yuri Katsuki is a young man who was a free skater but loses his passion and ability that forced him to join the program and learn from Victor Nikiforov.
One of MAPPA’s most emblematic features is the realistic skating scenes which consist of elements elaborated in collaboration with professional skaters. The only specific detail is that it is a post-apocalyptic world covered with darkness, and the episodes tell about the wanderings of Caiman, a man with a lizard’s head, who wants to take revenge on the sorcerer who acted on himself.
MAPPA well showcased animation in Dorohedoro where darkness comprises 2D animation and polished 3D element. This puts the atmosphere depicted in the manga to perfection and the show is a great watched for its crazy visuals.
7. Zenshu

Although “Zenshu” is MAPPA’s recent original anime, people praised it for its animation work. It has also been pointed out by critics and audiences though, that the show continues to represent the studio’s brand of quality. The show is set around Natsuko Hirose, a talented animator who finally receives a director position relatively soon after that. That is why her first show takes the level of other-culture success and provides her with great recognition. Still, she soon gets into a problem with her next show, a Romantic Comedy about first love, because she had never been in love herself.
