The Evil Eye Arc in Dandadan is a thrilling action-filled portion of the manga that continues with Momo, Okarun, and friends as they progress through the adventures they are going through dealing with a deadly curse living inside Jiji. Their fun times, valuable lessons, and thrilling battles will all be displayed as the story explores how these characters grow and help each other along the way.
What is the Evil Eye?
The arc revolves around a character called Jiji, who harbors an Evil Eye within himself. This Evil Eye is such a strong evil that cannot be controlled and starts causing trouble when it takes over in Jiji. It can attack anything within its surroundings and cause damage, making it almost uncontrollable. The character of Momo, Okarun, and their friends comes into the scene to help Jiji with the Evil Eye so it does not start harming people.

Evil Eye is not something Jiji wanted. He did not ask for it, and it is hard to control. Jiji tries to live a normal life, but the Evil Eye is always there causing problems in his life. It is now up to Momo, Okarun, and others to find a way of dealing with the Evil Eye.
The Struggle to Control the Evil Eye
At the beginning of the arc, Momo and Okarun are trying their best to support Jiji. They even contemplate hiring a special exorcist named Hayashi to be able to finally remove the Evil Eye from his body. Things, however, did not turn out as they were expected to be. The exorcism is canceled when Jiji asks for it to be kept inside his body. He believes he can control it if he has enough time and support. This creates some tension among the group members, more in the case of Aira since Jiji would seem selfish; no one else can be bothered knowing that it is going to amount to a lot of work in caring for the rest.

Momo, Okarun, and Aira decide to stand by Jiji. They did not want anyone to be hurt by the Evil Eye and kept him safe. This was the beginning of their journey to help Jiji control the curse.
Momo's New Job
While this is happening, Momo goes off to work at a local café called Moe Moe Kikoho. She seeks to earn money to help pay for the damage caused by the rampages of the Evil Eye. Her job becomes a little embarrassing because her friends Miko and Muko show up to tease her while she works. Momo struggles through and does her best, though.

This can be seen at the café where Momo tries to take responsibility for the situation. Even when her house is being destroyed by the Evil Eye, she does not give up but instead works hard to make things right.
Training with Okarun
Okarun is another character in the story that is trying to get stronger. He wants to be able to take care of his friends and get through any situation that comes along. To this end, he trains with a mysterious figure called the Turbo Granny, who instructs him in the art of fighting.

As part of his training, Okarun faces a series of weird enemies called the Music Room Portraits. These enemies were once people who feared music; the enemies could project big, powerful musical notes that blast and pound against Okarun and Aira. At first, Okarun falters but learns to dodge the attacks because of the Turbo Granny’s teaching helped by Aira on how to move and fight to avoid getting knocked out by the Portraits.

Facing the Evil Eye
Then, finally, the moment of reckoning arrives, and Okarun decides to face the Evil Eye head-on. He feels that the Evil Eye, being nothing more than a child who wants to play, can be dealt with if he can bargain with it. He demands that the Evil Eye fight with him at regular intervals and not hurt anyone if the Evil Eye does not focus on anyone else. This is a rather dangerous plan, but Okarun succeeds just by believing and his strength whereas Evil Eye doesn’t do any such thing but rather follows whatever is given. Evil Eye eventually gets out of this trouble as well; the Evil Eye gets controlled once more by Jiji. They celebrated with victory in hand knowing all have done to save one another.

Renovating Ayase House
Once the Evil Eye is controlled, Momo and her family have to face the damage. Its evil eye has caused a lot of destruction in their house, and they need to do its restoration. With help from their friends and an alien called Ludris, they started the rebuilding process.

Even though the house is broken, the group’s friendship is stronger than ever. They’ve faced many challenges together, and now they can look forward to a future where the Evil Eye no longer controls Jiji’s life.
