December 24, 2018, was the day the world witnessed one of the most intense and important battles in jujutsu history. The strongest sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, faced off against Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, in a battle that would decide the fate of the world. This was not a fight; it was the showdown between two of the most powerful beings to ever exist. The battle that followed left everyone shaken, and its aftermath would change everything.
The Tension Before the Fight
The book starts with the freedom of Gojo from the Prison Realm. His friends, by using the Jacob’s Ladder of Hana Kurusu, successfully rescued him. Immediately, Gojo moved to confront Kenjaku, who had confined his best friend within himself, Suguru Geto. Kenjaku had sealed Gojo within the Prison Realm deep in the Japan trench; he had assumed that Gojo would remain imprisoned there and never come out. But Gojo emerged unscathed, leaving poor Kenjaku fuming.
Soon, Sukuna, who had been waiting for this moment, stepped in. He had taken control of Megumi’s body and was eager to face Gojo in battle. The two powerful sorcerers locked eyes, and it was clear that only one would walk away from this fight.
The Ritual and the Stage Is Set
Before the war started, Utahime, one of Gojo’s assistants, had planned a ritual to boost Gojo’s cursed energy. She utilizes her technique, which includes music, gestures, and words, by making use of her Solo Forbidden Area to boost Gojo’s strength during this fight. Meanwhile, Gojo didn’t waste any time as well. He prepared himself for the approaching battle.
Gojo and Kenjaku discussed the fight and then agreed to schedule it for 24th December. Gojo boasted confidently that he would win. Sukuna did not know, but Gojo never lost his confidence. The stage was ready, and both Sukuna and Gojo were ready for what was going to come.
The Battle Begins
When the day arrived, Sukuna waited for Gojo in Shinjuku, while Gojo traveled to Shibuya with his allies. Despite the distance, Sukuna could feel Gojo’s immense cursed energy. To hide their first move, Ijichi, one of Gojo’s allies, set up a barrier. But that didn’t stop Gojo from unleashing his first attack: a high-powered Hollow Purple technique.
Gojo’s Hollow Purple was incredibly strong. The destructive force tore through buildings in Shibuya and Shinjuku. The blast caught Sukuna off guard, leaving him briefly weakened. As Sukuna tried to recover, Gojo wasted no time and used his incredible speed to chase after him. The fight quickly escalated from there, with Sukuna using his cursed techniques to fight back.
A Brutal Exchange of Power
The battle was fierce right from the start. Sukuna and Gojo went at each other hand-to-hand, using all their powerful techniques to land each other devastating blows. Gojo used his Infinity technique to counter Sukuna’s attacks, but Sukuna answered back with his cursed energy, overpowering Gojo. They both clashed rapidly with punches and kicks and in brutal attacks.
Gojo threw Sukuna into a building using his Blue technique. Sukuna countered by slicing through the building using his Dismantle technique and then hitting Gojo. The fight was full of shocks, as both sorcerers showed extreme strength and endurance.
The Domains Clash
Both Gojo and Sukuna used their domain expansions at the peak of the battle. Gojo’s Unlimited Void was a technique that ensnared the enemies in confusion, while Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine had the power to hit no matter what the situation was. Gojo’s domain was too overwhelming for the senses, but Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine had the power to hit its target no matter what. The two domains clashed hard; Sukuna’s slashes hit Gojo and caused deep wounds to him. Still, Gojo kept on fighting even when injured.
For a moment, Gojo stood his ground, relying on his power and strategy to ward off Sukuna’s strikes. But Sukuna wasn’t yet done. He amplified his slashes and broke through Gojo’s defenses. Gojo was compelled to use all the tricks he knew just to survive, but Sukuna was able to deliver the final blow. Gojo’s heart stopped, and the strongest sorcerer fell.
The Last Moments of Gojo
As Gojo’s life slipped away, Sukuna praised him for his strength. The man was truly magnificent, and he would always remember such an opponent. As his life ebbed out, Gojo found peace in himself. He spent the last seconds of his life imagining the fallen allies, including Suguru Geto. Gojo did not have any regrets since he had fought to the fullest and enjoyed every moment of his life. The only regret he had was that Sukuna didn’t have a similar opportunity.
The Aftermath: The Fight Continues
Even though Gojo Satoru was gone, the battle wasn’t over. His death didn’t stop his allies from continuing the fight. They had no time to mourn Gojo’s loss—they had to keep fighting to save the world—the first to face Sukuna after Gojo was the God of Lightning, Hajime Kashimo. Sukuna, still relishing his victory, warned Kashimo not to spoil the moment.
The world had lost its strongest sorcerer, but the fight to stop Sukuna and the curses was far from over. Gojo’s allies, with determination, continued forward. They knew that they had to keep fighting in his honor.
