In Naruto, the death of every character has brought a major change in naruto’s life where the character development is instigated. The death of every crucial character were shown in Naruto Shippuden that played an important part in the future of the shinobi world.
Obito Uchiha
“Naruto… you better become Hokage”
When Obito meets Naruto who is wishing to do everything to bring back his friend, Sasuke, Obito gets reminded of his past days with Kakashi. Even Naruto has the dream of Obito to become the Hokage of the leaf. Obito couldn’t achieve the dream of becoming a Hokage due to his revenge for leaf and hatred to the rules of the shinobi world and he joined hands with Madara. During his death in the fourth great ninja war, Obito was moved by the kindness of Naruto and wishes to become the Hokage of the leaf and fulfill his dream.
Itachi Uchiha
“You don’t have to forgive me.. No matter what you decide to do from now on, I will always love you Sasuke.”
Itachi meets Sasuke after getting reincarnated through Kabuto’s Jutsu during the battle of the fourth great ninja war. Itachi gets to know that Sasuke joined Akatsuki and wishes to destroy the leaf as revenge for his brother’s death. Itachi so casts Genjutsu on Sasuke and shows everything that he was hiding from him. Itachi tells that everything he did back then was his own decision to protect his little brother, Sasuke who meant everything to him. This was the second time Itachi died in front of Sasuke but this time not as a rival but as a brother. Itachi asks forgiveness from Sasuke and tells him that he will love him no matter what happens.
Madara Uchiha
“War buddies..huh? Well… I Guess…that’s okay…by…”
Madara, after getting betrayed by Kaguya, has a little conversation with Hashirama. Madara and Hashirama being the founders of Konoha were best friends from childhood but the fights between the Uchiha and Senju clan have been the hindrance to their brotherhood. Further, their friendship turned into rivalry when Madara had a fight with Hashirama for the position of Hokage. Madara was defeated by Hashirama after countless days of battle. When reincarnated Madara in his final moments regrets not following Hashirama and calls him his forever war buddies. Their friendship is the sole reason for creation of Leaf village, and the shinobi system.
Jiraiya
“I wonder… let’s see.. The tale of Naruto Uzumaki. Yes, that has a nice ring to it ”
Jiraiya leaves Konoha and departs for the Village of the Rain alone to fight Pain. The fight between Jiraiya and Six paths of pain resulted in Jiraiya’s death as he couldn’t hold the fight alone from his side. During his final moments, Jiraiya gets the visuals of his failed life where he failed to save his friend, failed to protect his mentor and also his student. He further reminds the protagonist of the book written by him and names it the “Tale of Naruto Uzumaki”, leaving everything behind for Naruto.
Neji Hyuga
“Long ago those words of yours freed me from the shackles of fate…Because you called me a genius”
Neji sacrifices himself to protect Hinata and Naruto from the fire spies launched by the Ten tails and dies in Naruto’s shoulder. Neji was always confined by his fate of being born under the branch family of the clan and grew hatred because of this. Neji tells Naruto that he felt freed from the curse on his head on the day when he called him genius and his fate is not gonna be a hindrance to his dream. On his death, Neji thanks Naruto for his words and Naruto promises Neji that when he becomes a Hokage he will change the rules of the Hyuga clan.
Kushina
“Oh, Naruto, there’s so much…oh, so much more…! There are so many things I wish I had time to pass onto you… so much more I wanna tell you! I wish I could stay with you longer! I love you! Minato, I’m sorry, I used up your time.”
After getting attacked by the nine tails Kushina advises baby naruto to get stronger and achieve whatever he wants. She forgives Naruto for leaving him very soon and requests Lord Third, Hiruzen to take good care of him.
Minato
“I promise to tell Kushina everything..”
Minato meets Adult Naruto in the Fourth great ninja arc after getting reincarnated by Orochimaru. Minato and Naruto fought together and the time when the Edo Tensei Jutsu reverses Naruto bids farewell to Minato for the second time on his birthday. Minato tells that he was proud of how strong and disciplined Naruto has become and he promises to tell everything to Kushina when he meets her.
Shisui Uchiha
“Please protect the village and the honor of the Uchiha Clan.”
Shisui sacrifices himself by giving his other eye to Itachi and asks him to protect the honour and pride of the Uchiha clan that has been protected for years. Shisui tells Itachi more than the clan, protect the Village of the leaf and don’t let the hatred of Uchiha pass on to the next generation.
Nagato Uzumaki
“It especially can’t be helped with your generation. You don’t know war… you may try to find meaning in death, but their is only pain. An unbearable hatred… senseless deaths… eternal hatred… and pain that does not heal. That’s what war is. Naruto… this is what you’ll be facing in time. Regarding that book, and you… it seems like someone set it up. Or… perhaps this is the real work of a god. It seems my work ends here, Naruto. I believe you can bring true peace.”
Nagato after listening to the words of Naruto reminds Yahiko of his old days. Nagato regrets going in a path that Yahiko never wanted and believes in Naruto’s vision of the shinobi world. Naruto promises Nagato that he will bring true peace to the Shinobi world and stop the wars around the shinobi villages.
Granny Chiyo
“Naruto… a request from an old woman. You are the only one who knows Gaara’s pain… Gaara also knows your pain. Help Gaara out…”
Granny Chiyo who had a great hatred for Leaf shinobis changed her heart when Naruto gave his Haki to save Gaara’s life. Chiyo gets teary-eyed by seeing the kindness of Naruto and his care for Gaara that he earned for a lifetime. Chiyo asks Naruto that they are the future of the shinobi world that will turn everyone around. Naruto and Gaara as Jinchurukis shared the same fate and childhood and that’s why Chiyo tells him that he is the only one who can heal Gaara’s wounded heart.
Asuma Sarutobi
“Ino, Choji, Shikamaru… I have one last thing to tell you. Ino… you’re strong willed, dependable and responsible… Choji and Shikamaru… they’re total goof-off’s. Keep them in line. Choji… your a kind man who cares for his comrades. Be more confident in yourself… and… maybe diet a little. And Shikamaru… you’re so smart… and have great sense as a shinobi. You could definitely become a Hokage. But.. your to lazy… you’d probably hate it. I want one last smoke…”
After getting caught in Hidan’s Jutsu, Asuma falls down for death. Asuma in his final words assists his students to become what they dreamed of themselves. Asuma tells Shikamaru that he is about to become a father and asks him to guide the child as a sensei.
